About the video:

Tony Robinson and the Time Team are invited to investigate a Bedfordshire field by a keen group of amateur archaeologists who just happen to be some of the country's leading experts in the science of ice cream. Over the years, in the spare minutes between testing wafers, cornets and vanilla flavours, they've found countless pieces of Roman pottery, coins and building material. It all suggests this now empty field was once home to a grand Roman villa. As usual for Time Team, the ones that look easy turn out to be the toughest. The dig is far from straightforward as trench after trench fails to find the imposing building that everyone is expecting. Strategies are changed, geophysics are sent to survey one of the largest areas they've ever attempted, and still the site refuses to reveal its secrets. As the three days pass, the most promising results come from the hardy bunch of amateurs.

Time Team

A roving team of archaeologists travel to different sites each week to uncover the mystery of what lies beneath. Some sites are soon to be covered over by new development, some are long-buried and known only to the locals. In each case, the Time Team has only three days to excavate.
