
On January 25th, 2011, Egyptians took to the streets in protest against the government of President Hosni Mubarak. Few would have predicted that a mere 18 days later, one of the Arab world’s longest-serving leaders would relinquish power. The revolution and the continuing protests for democracy were all captured through the lens of social media. The visualization below displays images uploaded to the photo sharing site Flickr during the tumultuous events that have led to a new Egypt.
