In 1943, 22-year-old Cato Bontjes van Beek was guillotined at Plötzensee Prison in Berlin for her opposition to the Nazi regime. This film tells the story of Cato's short yet very full life. After an idyllic childhood in rural Germany, Cato moved to Berlin, where as a young woman she aided prisoners of war and joined the resistance by distributing anti-Nazi leaflets. Her story is painful, inspirational and timelessly relevant.
