Attention Aspiring Filmmakers: Submit a short doc to win
At the helm of this year's contest is Featured Filmmaker Peter Raymont.
Producer, director, journalist, writer, Peter Raymont has produced and directed over 100 films and TV series during his 42-year career.
Raymont's films have been honoured with 52 international awards, including the Gold and Silver Hugos and The Sesterce d'Argent, among others. His films have also received 13 Geminis (45 nominations).
His most recent films for TVO include "Prosecutor" and "Fight Like Soldiers, Die Like Children." His documentary feature, "Shake Hands with the Devil: The Journey of Romeo Dallaire" received the 2007 Emmy for Best Documentary and the 2006 Sundance Film Festival Audience Award.
Raymont's films are often provocative investigations of "hidden worlds" in politics, the media, and big business. His films are informed with a passion for human rights and social justice.
Join Peter Raymont via Skype. You can pitch your contest story idea or any other doc idea you've had brewing. Raymont can give you professional storytelling advice. These sessions will take place over the course of the contest from October to March. For more details on the next Skype Sessions, contact producer Liane Kotler: firstname.lastname@example.org.
